What's been going on in my world lately?
Well, for one school is back in full swing. I'm in what we call Special Ed. "Big Block", and so far it's been good. It's about to get super busy, but I'm excited about it really. I get to spend 4 hours every Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday working in the schools. I start this coming Monday and I'm excited, not to mention scared out of my mind. :) In Big Block, we also have the joyous experience of writing lesson plans. Lots and lots and lots of lesson plans. I should be a pro pretty soon, hopefully :) Soooo, I'm sure I'll be blogging on this more in the new future. Send up a prayer for me if you would kindly.
My God is awesome. Check out the view I had on my way to school. He loves us so much!
I'm waay behind on blogging about our "snow day" 01-07-2010, but it was amazing none-the-less.
The girls and I enjoyed it so much, and we even made snow cream. It was just all around a great day! Getting out of school was an added bonus too.
I love them so much!!
As most of you know, we eat at my sweet Beezie's every Sunday afternoon and Wednesday night. (I, of course, am @ school on Wed) I love that precious time spent with my family so much. After the food is put away and the dishes are done, we go into the living room and play with Payton. I can't believe he's fixin to be ONE! This year has flew by. SO FAST!
This is the life!

I'm still having a hard time believing it's 2010.
2009 was so good to me, or should I say God was good to me, as always.
This year, for me, was a year of new experiences, new relationships, new family members, new school, new friends. A lot of new...and as I sit here typing, I'm thinking back in awe of all my Creator has blessed me with.
Shall I recap?
January 2009 brought tears of joy into the McGee family. Our little Michael Payton, who we waited so patiently for, came into this world January 26th, 2009 @ 5:01 at a healthy 5lbs 1oz. That same day we also celebrated Daddy & Britt's birthday. How special that we have a triple family birthday.
February 2009 is Mama's month. We always enjoy celebrating her birthday. She is so precious and dear to my heart. I am so thankful that God not only allowed me the privilege of being her daughter but also best friend. We are so much alike it's plum scary at times. :)
March 2009 was a busy month for me. I got to go on the ICC BSU Mission trip to San Francisco. We went to the Golden Gate Seminary, and we had an absolute blast. We worked really hard and accomplished a lot for His glory. Later in March God allowed me to work with Whit and Nate in leading a DNOW @ Okolona FBC. God did some big things in some hearts that weekend, and I'm thankful I got to see Him at work.
April 2009 brought about an opportunity for me to speak at the Leadership Training Conference for college students. Without a doubt largest crowd I've ever stood before. I'm still humbled at the fact that God would choose to use me.
*April 8th 2009 is a preeeety special date for sure. Paul took me on our first date, and he's stuck around ever since :) He's so wonderful and a complete blessing from God.
May 2009 was a bittersweet month entirely. ICC BSU had been my life for the past 3 years, and in May I had to say goodbye to such a huge part of my heart. I am still in awe of all the friends I met through the BSU, friends who will last a lifetime.
May 27th I boarded a plane with 2 girls I barely knew at all. Andrea & Gretchen. We flew to Reno, NV and waited for Debbie our supervisor to pick us up.
June & July 2009 were spent in Tahoe City, California. One of God's masterpieces. Breathtaking is an understatement. God allowed me to love on over 100 kids every single day and meet some amazing families. I was introduced to some of the most amazing girls in the world. (Amazing how God took 13 of us, from all walks of life, and said Here, this is where I want you to serve together.) I seriously worked harder than I've ever worked in my life. I taught the summer musical and the actual musical night brought an overwhelming sense of accomplish in my life. Still humbled by the fact that God chose to use someone as low as me.
Annnnndd....Whit got engaged!!!
August 2009 I boarded a plane with Andrea and Gretch (2 of the most amazing friends) for good ol' MS! Never has it felt so good to be home with the people I love, and at the same time miss the girls and kids that I spent my summer with.
School time came around and I started my 1st semester as a BULLDOG! :)
September & October 2009 was busy with school, football games, lots of family time.
November 2009 reminded me of how blessed I am. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.
December 2009 is probably my favorite month of the year. Simply because of all the joy. My sweet Beezie turned 96 yrs old, and we celebrated her life. I am so thankful for that precious lady. We celebrated Paul's birthday with a surprise party, and it was so much fun. And of course Christmas was filled with Jesus, food, family, laughter, presents, and lots of hugs. It was a great month. However, December also brought pain for someone dear to my heart. Whit lost her papaw unexpectedly. And it broke my heart. Praise the Lord for the peace He's given Whit. I'm still praying it over her life.
Thank you Father for being so unbelieveably faithful to me. I am underserving in every way possible.
Here's to another year of lots of laughter and love. Bring it on 2010. :)

Oh what a splendid time of year. Quite possibly my favorite.
My family and I have had such a wonderful Christmas.
I have been so unbelievably blessed.
It seems so easy to forget throughout the busyness of everyday life...
But this time of year never fails to remind me.
I celebrated my 21st Christmas, as always, at my precious Beezie's house. I went over early to help out in the kitchen, and when I got there Beezie was mixing up her pound cake. I decided to snap a picture, and I "scared the fire out of her". (hahaha) It was so funny. She didn't realize I was going to take a picture, and she thought lightening had came through. :) We all got a good laugh.
We ate a delicious supper, and then we opened presents. It was such a sweet time together. This year was Payton's first Christmas, and we just gooed and gahed over him. :)

We ended the night by singing Christmas carols.
When we got back home, Brit and I gave mama and daddy their present.
And then Paul came to get his Day 2 present. Brad Paisley tickets. He had asked me about going after I had already bought us tickets. So, I told him I didn't really care about going. Needless to say, he was surprised! :)
Then, of course, Christmas morning. Santa was too good to Brit and I. After we opened our presents we went down to watch Madison and Payton open their presents. It was so fun to watch.
For lunch, I went with Paul to eat with his family @ Nana's. I didn't take a single picture, and I'm still mad @ myself. :( After lunch we went to his Mama & Daddy's to exchange presents. I had so much fun, and his family is just precious.
We went back to Madison and Payton's. Paul got Payton a camo coat, and this is probably one of my favorite pictures ever. They are making almost the exact same face :) haha!
After we finished opening presents there we came back to my house to finish opening gifts. Paul got me lots of good presents, but my biggest present was a Cricut. :) EXCITED wasn't the word. I had no idea what he had me, and he did so good! (Thanks Pauly!)
And his final Day 1 gift was camo seat covers for his truck. He was excited!
Lastly, Mama's side came over for Christmas last night. Mama did a wonderful job on the food, as always. We had a house full, and it's always great to see all of them. We're all so busy so we cherish the time we do get to see each other.
We had such a great Christmas! I am completely blessed.
I have the BEST family in the whole world!
And I have a wonderful Savior who came as a little baby into this world so that I might know salvation. Thank you Jesus, I am so unworthy!

96 years old today.
The sweetest woman in the whole entire world has a birthday TODAY.
My precious Beezie. :)
Words cannot even begin to express how much I love this lady.
I am thankful to the good Lord for her every single day.
There are very few people my age who still have their great-grandmother.
Please know I do NOT take this for granted, not even a little bit.
I'll never forget my 11th grade year. Beezie fell.
We rushed to her house and I remember keeping her still and trying to control her bleeding forehead.
Through her fall she broke her neck and arm.
91 years old at the time, the doctors gave her a very slim chance.
They said she'd recover pretty well if (and they stressed IF) she made it through surgery. They gave her 20% chance.
I remember pleading with God. I wasn't ready to let her go.
And my precious Savior allowed her to recover 100%.
A few years later she was walking out to her swing set and slipped on some acorns in the yard. She broke her pelvic bone.
Doctors told us how slim the chance of recovery was once again.
And my precious Savior allowed her to recover, again, 100%.
Oh, praise Him!
I tell you these stories to tell you that I do not take her life for granted.
I know every single day is a blessing from God. He wasn't finished with her, and He still isn't.
She is a living, breathing testimony of God's unconditional love.
Never in my life have a I heard her utter a single harsh word about anyone.
Serious.
She sees the good in everything and everyone.
"That's what I say" is one Beezie's sayings, and it's my favorite. Along with "Hey, Sug!"
She is the perfect model for the Proverbs 31 woman. Every single verse describes her.
I hope I grow to be half the woman she is.

How does one even begin to describe all of their blessings?
Especially me.
You know all the stuff I'm thankful for, all the stuff I should be more thankful for, and especially all of the things I take for granted...
That's just it...I'm not sure how exactly.
We sang "Count Your Many Blessings" at church Sunday and as I was singing I kept thinking, "Ashley, your list is miles long. How can you ever tell of everything your sweet Savior has given you?!"
I know I'm incapable of that...but here goes the start of my list nonetheless.
The beautiful, terrible cross. Eternal life. Peace in troubled times. Soldiers & their families. Daddy's wisdom and faithfulness. Mama's love and advice. Britta's tender heart and passion for things shes loves. My precious boyfriend, Paul. Paul's respect and love for God, me, and my family. House shoes. Christmas decorations. Contacts. I can't believe this year is almost over.
Lord, help me remember to soak up every second and breath of life you so freely give me.
