*****SIDENOTE: Meeting with my videographer, super excited. I know this will be something I can cherish for many years to come. My parents wedding tape is NO more. Right after their wedding, my mom let someone borrow it....and.... they recorded Days of our Lives over it...YES, you read that right. So sad isn't it. At least mom has a tons of pictures. Only a tad bit of their reception is left. Thank goodness I'll get THREE copies and they'll all be on DVD. There is some good to technology, eh?!

I can't believe I get to marry my BEST friend in the whole wide world. I'm so unbelievably blessed.
That's all for now. Hope everyone is staying COOOOOL in this dreadful HOTT summer weather.
Until next time.
Love God. Love people.
Just have some folks on my heart and mind tonight, two in particular. One is family, and the other a lifelong friend.
Don't know what to do for them other than take them to my sweet Savior who is faithful to hear.
Lord, I give them to you. I feel like I'm at a dead end, and I don't know what else to do. Literally. You know my heart is heavy.Father, be near to them. Love them. Show them. Bring them to the cross where your precious blood was poured out so that we might be forgiven and have eternal life.
Will you join me in praying for my cousin Madison and friend Chris?
Until next time.
Love God. Love people.
As I sit here typing this...
I have a sweet little fella sound asleep right by my side. :)
My little Payton...
who is growing up WAAAY too fast for my liking I might add.
If you haven't realized it yet, I LOOOOVE this kid so much! He makes me laugh all the time. He's so funny, so caring, and so lovable. Not to mention CUUUTE!!

You are talking so good now, and you're making complete sentences. Some of your favorite statements are: "I know!", "Oh my stars," "Do it again," "Where," "Why,"...and I love them all!
You love Mickey Mouse & all his friends and Lightening "McQueeeeeen" :)I can have Paul call my cell phone and act like Mickey Mouse and you go wild! You like talking to Goofy too. Paul hasn't perfected his Donald Duck voice yet, but you always ask to talk to him too. :) You boys make my heart happy.

My prayer for you little man is that God will watch over and protect you. You are so little now, but I pray that your life would be filled with happiness, adventure, and most of all Christ. I wish I could keep you this tiny forever. But I know that I'd be robbing you of so many blessings.
I love watching you and Paul interact. He loves you little man. We both do. You are so loved. You and your big sissy both. I won't ever quit praying for you two.
Lord, watch over my sweet smush. You know how much I love him, and I can hardly comprehend that you love him waaaaay more. God, be near him always. Thank you for giving him to us. I pray that when the time is right, You'll prick at his heart and I pray that he'll be willing and receptive to accept You. My cup is running over Lord, thank you for your love and blessings. Help me to always return to You with praise.
Until next time.
Love God. Love people.
Yes, I've got wedding on the brain.
I NEVER, ever realized all the work and detail put into weddings, but there is A LOT.
But I'm enjoying the craziness of it. I think I've looked at millions billions of pictures on the internet and in magazines to get ideas.
EEK! It's now less than 5 months until my very own wedding. I'm SO stinkin' excited. I feel like a little kid waking up to Christmas morning everyday! :)

AHHHH, I think it's safe to say I'm EXCITED!!! :)
My little sister, Brit, took our Save the Date pictures. Here are just a few.

I think she did a fabulous job! Thanks Brit & Mama for going with us and braving the Mississippi HEAT and HUMIDITY!
Thank you Lord for your sweet blessings everyday.
I will forever praise you for all you do.

Say hello to the (soon to be on November 19) Mrs. Paul Hendrix!
That's correct. Read it again if need be... :)
I'm SO excited and SO blessed to get to spend the rest of my life with my fiancé, Paul!!

Tuesday night, May 24th 8:30(ish) Paul proposed right in the kitchen of his house.
SHOCKED was an understatment. I had absolutely NO idea!!
Want to hear the whole story...Oh come on, you know you do!! :)
Here's the deal:
So, the original plan was to wait until tonight because we are having a big get together of all our friends at my house. However, Tuesday, he decided spur of the moment he couldn't wait any longer. We were fixing to put in a movie and he said I need to go to the bathroom, do you? I said sure and went on. I noticed he followed me through to the kitchen, but I just thought he was going to jump out and scare me (he's been known to do that).
Well....I tiptoed out of the bathroom waiting for him to jump out. Then I walked back in the kitchen, looked at him, and said something like "What are doing?" He walked to me, grabbed my hand, and got down on one knee and said "I can't wait another minute to know if you'll marry me and be my wife. I love you so much!"
HOLD UP!
Let me insert that in my head I had always planned to say flat out "Oh my goodness, YES, I'll marry you!"
Would you believe the first words out of my mouth were..."Did you ask my daddy?!!" (haha) Paul said "YES!!", and then I of course said "YES, I'll marry you. Now get up!!" He placed my ring on my finger, and I can't quit staring at it...I think you can see why :)

It was the perfect proposal!!..
After hugging and rejoicing together, we shared the news with our families. EXCITEMENT was definitely an understatement. Paul's mama's reaction is still my favorite. She was sitting watching tv, reading a book, and not really paying us any attention when we walked in. I had my hand behind my back, and Paul called his daddy in the living room. We were kind of just standing there and Paul said, "Well I asked Ashley to marry me." Mrs. Becky threw the book in the air, threw her hands up, and started hollering. Haha, it was so priceless. :)
My family, as well as Paul's, are thrilled. We are so fortunate to have such good parents. Just another blessing in our sweet love story.
I seriously cannot tell you how thankful I am. I haven't quit smiling or staring at my ring. Paul is my best friend in the whole world, and I love him so very much. I pray that our life together glorifies our sweet Savior forever and ever.
I cannot praise Jesus enough.
Until next time.
Love God. Love people.
For those who don't know...
It's Police Appreciation week. I, for one, am thankful for all the men and women who serve in our towns and cities.
I guess you could say I'm EXTRA thankful because my sweet boyfriend, Paul is a police officer too.
He never wants recognition of any kind, trust me.
"Pray for the Men in Black"
It takes a very special person to wear the uniform.
Most people do not understand what we do
We made a commitment to protect and serve.
We work hard to provide the safety you deserve.
No normal shifts, not nine to five.
We work 24/7 to keep you alive.
Holidays and weekends don’t mean a thing.
We work night and day, just give us a ring.
Our loved ones and children pray every night.
That we will return at the break of daylight.
We carry guns and wear vests to help us get through.
You couldn’t imagine some of the things we must do.
We see accidents and blood and small children crying.
We also see death and it’s not just old people dying.
Abusive spouses and parents that don’t seem to care.
These are just a few of the things, to make you aware.
Drug dealers and drunks are a regular sight.
We go to the bars for fight after fight.
Responding to calls day after day.
Not allowing our personal lives to get in the way.
You complain all the time when you see us on a break.
We just drive around in cars and oh, the money we make.
Stop for a second and try to assess
Who’s always there to clean up the mess.
We do all we can to help and provide.
To make you feel safe and secure inside.
Please remember all of the things that we must do.
And next time you pray, include the men in black.
I'm pretty sure I've never prayed for anyone as much as I've prayed for Paul. I worry about him, but I know the Lord will take care of him.
I am so thankful for my very own police officer! He's my best friend and my HERO!
Thank a police officer this week!
Until next time.
Love God. Love people.
