I am a fixer.

Like I said, I like to fix things. If there is a problem, I want to fix it. Regardless of whether it benefits me or not. That's just who I am. Sometimes I don't know how to pray. And you know, I think that's okay. Today for instance, my prayer started Father....and then there was nothing. No more words. (I'm rarely speechless) But I believe that God heard every word, every thought, every concern, everything on my heart today.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

My little cousin asked me about this poem the other day. The whole "Footprints" poem has always seemed so cliche to me. I've heard about it my whole life and even read it dozens of times. However, this time it is a little different. It has more meaning. I know God used her to point this poem out to me once again so we could cling to the words of it.

Praise God that He never leaves us when things get hard or difficult. I'm so thankful that He is faithful. So thankful that when we have no clue where to turn, or what to do he simply says "Here let me take that. I'll work it out." And He knows best. There is so much comfort in that.

Be thankful tonight for the stability you have in your family. I am so thankful for mine. I have the best parents in the world. But there are SO many, SO, SO many who do not have that peace and comfort at home. Praise Him today if you have it!

Until next time.

just good.

This weekend was just good.
I got to hang out with my family and a few friends.

Friday night my family and I went to the NP game. I love the atmosphere of high school football season. (and we won!) So that's always exciting. The band (my sister plays french horn) was awesome! They have worked so hard this year. I am so proud of Brit! :)

Saturday night we went to celebrate my Mamaw's 75 (or 57th, whichever) birthday. We had a wonderful time. I painted Mamaw a canvas that she'd been wanting.

So Happy Birthday Mamaw! I love you so very much!

I also got to hang out with 2 of my favorite girls in the whole world. Brit & Madison. (both might as well be my sisters)

And, of course, life is never dull around this little one. He's growing up so, so fast!! I can hardly believe it. He's talking and saying so many words. (Mama, Da-Da, Ash-ee, Bit Bit, Sissy, Mimi, KK, Mamaw, Bee-ie, Dan, Paul, Pa-pa, peez, ove ou (love you), ball, keys, T, etc....) :)

My favorite of course is Ash-ee...Listen and love it. I do :)

Sunday, I got to sing with 2 of my dearest friends (Chris, Jacob) and my sister. We sang Yearn and Our God is Greater. Sunday night my family sang and my sweet Beezie, Mamaw, & Papaw came.
I laughed and told Beezie we were having a blow out for her 97th birthday and she said, "I may be a blow out!" haha :) She's precious, and I can't get enough of her!

Lord, please let me never take for granted how blessed I am.

Until next time.
