We had an amazing time, traveled MAAAANY miles, and met some great people. However, it is always so wonderful to come back home to our Mississippi. I've always heard, "There's no place like home" and that's so true.
While on our mission trip we worked with a church called Southcoast Community Church. We helped do many things around the church including sanding & staining benches, picnic tables, playground equipment, yard work, and cleaned out/organized the church's shed.
The next day we helped out a church member, Mrs. Ruth. She was such a precious lady with a heart the size of Texas. She's the owner and founder of Ruth's Reusable Resources. It's basically a HUGE warehouse with stuff packed in from the floor to the ceiling of things that can be recycled. Companies donate overstocked items to her as well. We sorted what seemed like millions of boxes, moved scrap metal, and organized textbooks. Here's a link to her website to check it out. Ruth's Reusable Resources
We also went to help out a church in Augusta, Maine. We did some yard work and cleaning for the church, and we also helped out a 'random' (I use that word lightly because God allowed our paths to cross) couple who were in the building next door move a bunch of antique items.
We also helped paint a children's ministry house while there too.
On our way home we went to Boston, Mass., New York City, & Washington, D.C.
States we visited while on our trip include: Tenn, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, & Virginia. (14)We also went into Canada while visiting Niagara Falls (beautiful).
Thank you for your prayers! We are all so thankful for the beautiful places we got to go and things we got to do. God has really blessed. :)
Until next time.
Love God. Love people.
