A hike.

Hey everybody! I'm having a great time in Tahoe! :)
Today after church we went on two different hikes. It was so much fun. It was a great bonding time for us girls! However, we all realized just how out of shape we are, haha! The hikes were sometime steep and narrow, but the view at the top was always breathtaking. God's creation still amazes me. I can't understand how someone can see things like that and not believe.
Here are some pictures from our hike! :)
The first mountain we hiked.

We were quite scared! Haha!

It was just simply a great day! I love the girls that I am serving with! We are so excited about what God is going to do through us! :) Thank you for your prayers!

Until next time.

Finally here.

Weeeellll folks. I made it to Tahoe City, CA about 5:00 yesterday afternoon. (7:00pm home time) We were totally exhausted from flying, the time changes, waiting around for everyone, unpacking, etc. But it was good to finally get here. "Home" for 2 months.

I still can't get over the fact that I'm seriously here! Ahh! I'm having a lot of fun though, already. There are 13 total summer missionaries. And I must say I love everyone of them. This is the biggest group of summer missionaries in a long time, if ever...and we are pumped about what God is going to do this summer. We're still getting into the swing of things. So, our schedules are a little off right now. The kids in California are still in school, therefore our Big A program doesn't start until June 17th. However, we still have preschool kids all day along with the after school kids. We've been a little overwhelmed by it all, but Debbie, our supervisor, said this is completely normal :)

I'm so glad God called me here. Serving Him anywhere is an honor, but here in this beautiful place...I'm still in awe.

Here are pictures :)

At the airport about to leave for CALI.

Check out the view from our first hike. Amaaaazing!!

Mississippi Girls :) They can't get over our southern accents, haha!

He really does love us. Thanks for this amazing view God!

The church. Our "home".

Thank you for your prayers! :)
Love y'all so much.

Until next time.

3 days.

3 DAYS
Yes, that's correct.
I'm leaving in 3 days. That's so weird to say. I was talking to my Beezie last night about leaving. I told her I'd be getting to go to Yosemite National Park this upcoming week. OH MY WORD, and then it hit me. I will totally be in California SOOOOOON! It seems like I've been waiting for this day forever and now it's here. I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous, excited, scared...pretty much ever emotion under the sun. However, I know I have a purpose. I've been called to go share the love and sacrifice of my precious Savior. Sooo for 67 days, I'll be spending my summer investing in the lives of some precious kids. Which, by the way, is right up my alley. :)

We had a going away party at my house this past Tuesday night. Over 50 folks, too much fun. We've never had so many people piled into our house.

We like to call this togetherness :)

Check out my little man Payton. I'm completely in love with him.

And of course, my two favorite little munchkins in the world. KK and Mimi.

My family went fishing one afternoon. It was seriously too much fun. We laughed until we cried. Mama and I are not professional fishers at all.

Daddy and Brit on the other hand are hardcore. :)

The end to a perfect family fishing trip. Just another reminder that God loves us.

Friday night/Saturday morning I said goodbye to Chris until Aug. This is a huge deal because Jake, Chris, and I spend every day/hour/minute together during the summer. It will be a challenge for us all. I will miss these two.

Have I mentioned that I have the greatest parents in the WORLD??!! Seriously, I do.

Thank you for your prayers. I treasure every single one lifted up on my behalf. Pray for the other summer missionaries as well. My friend, Kyle Reeder, left for Peru this morning. All over the world we'll be sharing and living out our testimonies, for one purpose: to make HIM known.

Until next time.

Lack of words?

My heart is full. That's the only way I know to describe it really. Knowing that I'm leaving for Lake Tahoe in 9 days has caused me to sit back and soak it all in. Oh, sure I know that God has blessed me WAAAAAAAAY beyond anything I deserve, but these past few weeks I've been overwhelmed. I'm at a loss of words really....which I know surprises most of you, haha. When I can't find adequate words to describe all my JOY,...I tend to let pictures do the talking.

My little heartthrob, Payton.

He fell asleep before bath time, and it was possibly the sweetest/cutest/funniest thing I have ever seen :)

He is starting to laugh out loud, and I looooooove it!! :)

He'll be 4 months on May 26th. I can't believe I'm going to miss 5 and 6 months :(

Paul :) I will surely miss him this summer, a loooot.

lovely sister.

Mama, best friend, encourager, prayer warrior...i could go on for days.

my amazing, oh so wonderful, daddy :)

This is where it all began. Thaxton Baptist Church. 18 years ago. He's going to Uganda this summer. Pray for him.

My sweet KK. :)

My little mini me. Can you seriously be going into the 5th grade??

This is just a glimpse of the past week. Beyond blessed. Completely. I have so much to be thankful for.
Life is good.

Lake Tahoe in 8 days!!! (SINGLE DIGITS, oh ME!!) I need to start considering packing, ahhh!!

Until next time.

The countdown is on.

Well my journey at Harvard on the Bigbee has officially came to an end. Bittersweet.

Today is Chris Webb's Birthday!! Going on 18 years of being best friends. I can not imagine my life without him. 95% of the time we're fighting, but I wouldn't trade him for a million dollars. Happy Birthday Bubba, I love you!

By the way...We had to paint our Mother's Day corsages. Chris picked up white flowers, and both of our grandmothers are still alive. HAHAHA! Our mama's loved them!

Life is sooo good! Summer is here, and that feels weird to say. I'm leaving for Lake Tahoe in 15 days! WOW!

Payton is growing like a little weed. Soooo cute!

4 of my most favorite people in the entire world. Seriously. I'm going to miss them sooo much!

Payton's first family photo.

Please be this tiny when I come back home.

Loove them so much! Going to miss my swimming buddies, for sure!

You better believe I'm soaking up every second with my family and friends! I'm going to miss them sooooo much, but I know God has BIG plans for me in Tahoe. I get to spend 65 days sharing about the love and sacrifice of my precious Savior. What a blessing that will be. :)

Until next time.
Love God. Love people.

Last week, seriously.

One final down, one more to go.
This week is final week @ school, and people who have never studied before are cramming like CRAZY. Final week is always weird. I think this is because we're all out of our "daily routine." I have my last ICC final in the morning, hooray!

This past weekend was just wonderful. I got to paint faces at a little celebration at my mama's work. However, I do believe the kids got more paint on me than I on them.

I got to hangout with Paul Hendrix :), always fun! And Britta and I sang at church Sunday night. It was my first time to play the guitar without Jacob playing along side me, and I was nervous to say the least. I think it went well though. Speaking of my sister, she is growing up TOO fast. She's about to be in high school, Ahh! She is so great!

Annnd, of course I got to see sweet baby Payton. He gets cuter every time I see him. Seriously!

Last night we had a girls night with Robbie. She's our associate BSU directors wife. She is so wonderful, crazy, fun. I love when I get to spend time with her. We ate at Kyotos. It was such a fun night. Troy asked Robbie, "Why is it every time girls get together y'all start talking ghetto?" haha, it's true...we do! And we have no explanation Troy.

(Excuse Troy, he came in late just to eat off our plates, haha)

I'm sure there will be plenty more things to blog about by the end of this week. :) Finals are almost over, play time! I love my life. Beyond blessed.

22 days until LAKE TAHOE!

Until next time.
Love God. Love people.
